Block Party is Coming - This Saturday in Downtown GTown

Saturday marks the first of the 3 night Blockparty Series in Downtown Gloucester. I provided some of the fun entertrainment (hula hooping, bellydancing, salsa in the streets) when I ran the studio and later worked on the Downtown Block Party Committee and I can honestly say, putting together this huge, amazing and growing set of nights on the town is no small effort. I'm sure I speak for many local folks and businesses when I give a big shout out to the crew that keeps these fun night going.

Here's the word on what's happening:

Celebrate summer at the First Block Party of 2013 in downtown Gloucester. Main Street transforms into a strolling mall featuring al fresco dining; stores open for shopping; Kids’ Town games and multi-performances at five outdoor stages. Diverse bands, dance troupes and you, the audience, perform! It starts at 6 pm and it’s free!

Help select the new Block Party Cocktail created from Ryan and Woods Liquors. Sample selections at participating restaurants and vote for winner at the Ryan and Woods table at the Marketplace! Make sure you're at least age 21!

Be on Main Street at six pm Saturday July 20th for the opening acts. Enjoy a drink or a meal at any of the al fresco restaurants. Run in for a drink, run out for a dance! Our distinctive downtown stores are open for your enjoyment until 11 pm! See Street Map for Stage Locations.
